Comic-Con, Expansion, and More!
Connor McDonagh
Hey friends and fellow readers, it's been a minute, hasn't it? Gotta say, It's been quite a year so far, with a lot of ups and downs - and we're only a quarter of the way through. I practically live at school now given how much time I spend there, because I guess that's what happens when you take 20 credits and have to commute every day. But I've been on spring break so here we are.
Let's address the elephant in the room: we got approved to be vendors at this year's Comic-Con convention! It's kind of insane when you consider that just a few years back, Taylon's World was merely an idea. A great one, nonetheless, but it definitely wasn't what it is now. I remember when Taylon and I slaved away together during the Target years, constantly talking about how one day, we'll be rich and famous, heading the greatest entertainment company the world ever did see. It's small victories like this that really get the momentum going and makes that wish closer to reality. We'll be selling remastered versions of the first Fighcalm comic books, as well as some Funny Show selections.
We also plan on expanding our base of operations in the coming years, looking eastward at regions like the Waterfront and Mckeesport. Our current strategy is as follows:
1. Establishing Local Offices
Location Selection: Find suitable office spaces in McKeesport and the Waterfront that can accommodate creative teams and production facilities.
Community Engagement: Host community meetings to get a gauge on local needs and gather input on potential job roles and training programs that can be established.
2. Job Creation
Hiring Locally: Focus on hiring local talent for various roles, including production, marketing, and administrative positions.
Diverse Roles: Create a range of job opportunities that cater to different skill sets, from entry-level positions to specialized roles in media production.
3. Internship Programs
Partnerships with Schools: Collaborate with local high schools, community colleges, and universities to develop internship programs that provide students with hands-on experience in media and entertainment.
Mentorship Opportunities: Pair interns with experienced professionals within the company for mentorship and guidance.
Figured I'd keep this entry short and simple, but this should give you a good idea of what we're getting up to. This is Connor, signing off.
